Just a short update today. Lately I’ve been super frustrated by this new brand of paper. I’m not sure if you can see it in the picture, but the panel markings are in really weird positions making it quite difficult to measure the gutters on my comics, and it’s slightly “less white” so I have to adjust my levels in Photoshop a little differently…I feel kinda bad about having 50 sheets of this mess since my Wife (you may know her from the comics) went out of her way to pick it up for me, but she got the wrong brand, and my endless whining about it seems to be grating on her.
I’m gonna be pushing myself pretty hard into next week to get my comic buffer rebuilt and keep this thing at 5 days a week. This paper…I can’t EVEN!
A note to anyone interested in pre-ruled Japanese manga paper (I know SO many of you are) just buy Deleter, even if it’s more expensive. No one should have to experience this kind of pain.

Sorry for the lack of warning on this little absence…
The Wife and I are headed for Tokyo for a few days. Because of that I won’t be able to access these internets for the long weekend. We will be seeing a concert and heading back sometime Sunday night ~ Monday morning. If things look good when I get back I might reschedule the comics to come back on Monday instead of Tuesday, but we’re saying Tuesday just to be safe ~.~
Update:
We’re back and rolling right along. Once again, sorry about that…things happen.

Feel like I’ve been a bit absent from my own little hobby here for a bit. I’ve started stressing a little over getting comics finished and wanting to expand the site to what I had envisioned for it in the beginning. I’m sure some people have noticed that several of the links on the tabs above are not working, and I had planned to get things going as traffic started to pick up.
Unfortunately, I’ve slacked on my comic buffer to the point where I’m quite close to running out of comics to schedule @.@ This worries me a bit because I feel like if I take a break from updating the site things will just get worse and I’ll let it fade away like I’ve done before. Things are a bit slow as far as traffic building and site development. I generally wanna keep upbeat in my posts here, but things are how they are, I don’t think there should be any issues with addressing these things.
I’ve been tossing the idea around of slowing it down to a 3 day a week comic and working more on the site redesign and some other art projects I’ve been thinking about. But, at the same time, I think if I slow down the comics I’ll likely use that extra time to slack instead of work… I’m a bit curious what you guys think. I doubt I’ll get much response to this, but hey, any advice is better than none right?

I haven’t thrown down a ‘blog’ (I hate that word) post lately so I thought I would take the time out of my very busy schedule (Devil May Cry 4/Street Fighter IV) to let everyone know what’s going on over here. It’s been raining for about ohhhh 14 days straight now, and it seems the summer is coming to an end already! Unfortunatly for me, when there is a sudden dramatic change in the weather, I get very sick >.>; My comic buffer is widdling it’s way down since I’ve been too pathetic to get back to work on it, but the panic of not having comics is starting to settle in and I’ll be back on track in no time! (or not, who knows?)
Street Fighter IV is awesome, and I’m sure all of you fighting game fans will be glad to know that I’ve been at the arcades kicking Japanese ass all over Taito Station. AMERICA! FREEEEEEEDOM! I love the look on the faces of the Japanese when they peek around the machine and see who just mopped the floor with them (I also stick to playing the American characters to enhance the effect).
I’ve been getting some more English teaching work lately and I think it’s helping my spirits a bit, I’ve decided to push Thailand based comics back for a while longer and focus on Tanabata and Obon since they were pretty recent and gave me things to complain about, so look forward to that. I also had the pleasure of watching Gake no ue no Ponyo this weekend, so I may have to do another mini post about that, it’s quite good.
Time is short and there is much to draw, thanks to everyone for your support and kind words for the comics, it really keeps me going (whether that’s good or bad for the world is yet to be seen).
As always, the little PayPal donate button also goes a long way to keep me going *^.^* Honestly though anything that I receive in donations will go directly towards advertising for the site. My budget for this year has been spent and visitor counts are declining, so if you wanna help support the site, feel free to donate, no pressure…

Thought I should chime in being that I am officially back from Thailand. Comics are rolling along smoothly once again, and are scheduled all the way through to mid September.
The trip was quite good, we went all over Thailand, saw the major cities, temples, etc. It’s a pretty nice place to visit, but DAMN they have some freaky bugs over there (see above photo, that freak thing was a good 4 inches long). I think I accumulated the largest amount of bites in the smallest amount of time as ever in my life. I even had an ant bite off a portion of my flesh, though he was quickly extinguished by use of the ‘pinch and finger roll’ ninja technique…I really hate bugs.
I have a big old chunk of notes and some good stories from the trip that I need to write out into comics, and I think they’ll be quite good. The question though for that is timing. Primarily I try to keep this comic relevant to Japan, and I don’t think I’ve really covered enough topics to make a month long jump over to Thailand stories, but they’re good enough that I gotta use ‘em. I wonder if I should stroll along the Japan road for now and hold on to Thai, but if I do that I lose that freshness of mind…ho hum, who knows what I will do…
